Carsten Fleck's photography is the expression of his ongoing search for the meaning of life, his distinctive perception, as well as his own personal journey.
His photographs find beauty in imperfection and directness. Carsten is not interested in perfect images. His pictures are straightforward and show the inner as well as the outer beauty of his subjects.
The world is not a faultless place. This is why human beings tend to not understand perfection. To him perfect imagery lacks the emotional depth that is so important in his work. His photography is about beauty with an edge, beauty that is interesting and is able to affect the viewer emotionally.
Carsten lived and workd for 17 years in New York City and resides now in Berlin, Germany.
