2009

I had a good New Years. The beginning of the day yesterday was tainted by a very unpleasant e-mail. Apparently my mother had been reading the blog and was not very happy about what I said about her. The post “My Love” a couple of days ago was actually about her and put her over the edge. It was retaliation time. My sifu (kung fu father/teacher) would be very proud of her. She is following the kung fu principle, “We fight without mercy, with mercy we don’t fight!” It was not pretty.I almost stayed home last night but at the end my roommate Kristian asked me if I wanted to have dinner with him. It was good for me to get out of the house. Then we went to a local bar and saw a band perform. An hour later I was wildly dancing while I was sandwiched in-between two French girls. Live was good again.I got home around 5 o’clock in the morning and slept until 1 PM. I spent some time renaming and saving files from last year’s blog. In the afternoon, around 6 PM it was time for Jan’s party.My neighbor Jan has not been to a New Year’s Eve party in over 30 years. She stays home but every year she has a party on the first of January in her beautiful loft. There is always amazing food and lots of drinks. It is a great place to relax and to talk to people. I did not eat all day to be able to eat as much as I can at her place. I just came back home after spending six hours next door and will not have to eat for a while but most likely will not be able to sleep either.2009 is great!     "2009" Williamsburg/Brooklyn/At Jan's Party 01-01-09 at 09:07 PM
